For Shelagh

Last week I celebrated reaching my half century and as a birthday treat a very special friend took me out to lunch alongside the canal at Stoke Bruerne. This was especially nostalgic for me because as a child my family had owned a succession of boats and most of my childhood holidays were spent on the river and canals, including quite a bit of time travelling through the tunnel to Stoke Bruerne and working the flight of locks that follows.

We had a trip on a boat into the tunnel mouth and as well as the ducks, moorhens and birds that we saw, we also witnessed a dragonfly hovering over the canal surface in the glorious sunshine. My friend, Shelagh, is especially fond of dragonflies and so todays collection is brought with her in mind.

All of these cards are created using the beautiful "Awesomely Artistic" stamp set. The collection of stamps gives you licence to create collage style cards, with the beautiful dragonfly as a focus.

A trio of dragonflies in Regal colours. The Hessian effect stamp and the small splodges are so useful in lots of cards.

Mint macaron and Delightful Dijon featured in this card and I have used the delicate foliage stamp on the background strip. The "friend" sentiment also comes from this collection.

This third card makes good use of the 2 different sized fern stamps and I have added some washi tape to embellish this one.

I am so blessed to have some very special friends.
